pbseo on "sub-domain multisites return a 404 error"

Hello

So I just set up a network on one of our blogs and also created a few sites as sub-domains.

However, when I open those sub-domains, they redirect to /404.html

The requested URL was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I am using hostgator shared hosting for this and have already created a wildcard record in the DNS manager

Kindly advise on what might be going wrong here
