Melissa McWilliams on "Plugins Search Function Isn't Working :("

Hey, guys! I'm a first time WordPress-er and complete web design rookie here, so please bear with me if things just don't click with me. :\

I'm working on getting my site set up, and things have been going fairly smoothly so far, all things considered. I have version 3.6.1 and am using WP through Host Gator.

Here's my problem: everything seemed to be working fine, until I went to search for plugins today, and I was met with the following error upon attempting to do so: "An unexpected error occurred. Something may be wrong with WordPress.org or this server’s configuration. If you continue to have problems, please try the support forums."
