The publish to a facebook page functionality stopped working seemingly out of nowhere.
We want our Wordpress blog entries to be automatically posted to our facebook page. We are not using Open Graph functionality. When we make a WP blog entry, we receive the following error:
Failed posting to [NAME OF FACEBOOK PAGE]. Timeline. Error: {"message":"An unexpected error has occurred. Please retry your request later.","type":"OAuthException"}
I have tried reinstalling the plugin, re authenticating everything. I have tried using a different facebook application and a different plugin.
Our workflow to install is as follows:
Install Facebook plugin.
Go To Facebook Plugin General Page
Enter Application id: 515455018523569
Enter Application Secret
Go To Users -> Your Profile in Wordpress
Click on Associate my WordPress account with my Facebook account and allow new posts to my Facebook Timeline
Return to Social Publisher
Click on Allow New Posts to a Facebook Page
Click on the name of our facebook page
Make a test post (which fails)
This used to work.
Note that on the Social Publisher page, the Publish To My Timeline section still says: An author can associate his or her WordPress account with a Facebook account on his or her profile page.
When this used to work, we were also publishing to our timeline, so that could be a symptom of the problem.
Note that I also tried using Facebook Page Publish 2, to no avail.
Please help me. This is very annoying to my clients.
