I am receiving the dreaded error:
PHP Warning: An unexpected error occurred. Something may be wrong with WordPress.org or this server's configuration. If you continue to have problems, please try the support forums. (WordPress could not establish a secure connection to WordPress.org. Please contact your server administrator.)
After searching my logs, it has been occurring in the following:
wp-includes/update.php (lines 119, 287 & 435)
wp-admin/includes/plugin-install.php (line 77)
I am running WP 3.9.1 and all 4 of my plugins are up-to-date.
I scanned the site for malware, and it came back clean.
I spoke with my hosting rep., and he said that it was a programming error (of course), but after reviewing other posts, I am not so sure. My php programming knowledge is very limited. Please advise!
