I've been having issues with my sites over the last few days. My main site showed me the white screen of death yesterday. I went in via FTP disabled everything and finally got it going with Nextgen gallery turned off. Any attempt to load it gave a fatal error. (catfishcreative.ca)
Thought I was done, but then I started to check a couple other of my sites I don't go to much and both of those were showing white screen with a fatal error pointing to a contact form plug-in. (Neither used the Nextgen plugin) I shut down for the day and decided to start fresh this morning. (Also, all three sites use twenty eleven.)
These two sites: adcreative.ca and betatest.ad-creative.com
This morning both of the sites that had fatal errors yesterday worked fine. But I needed to upgrade WP to 3.9.1. When I did that I got this error message:
Warning: An unexpected error occurred. Something may be wrong with WordPress.org or this server’s configuration. If you continue to have problems, please try the support forums. (WordPress could not establish a secure connection to WordPress.org. Please contact your server administrator.) in /home/adcr9745/public_html/betatest/wp-includes/update.php on line 272
But it also says update completed successfully. And sites look fine...now.
I have not contacted my hosting company yet quite simply because I do not know what to ask?
Any thoughts? suggested course of action?
Thank you
